C+J came to me with three words that perfectly captured their vision for the day: elegant, classic, and timeless. From the very beginning, my goal was to create a design that enhanced the space and allowed the room’s natural beauty to shine. A refined palette of white and gold, accented with subtle touches of black, became the foundation for a look that felt effortlessly sophisticated and warmly inviting. The celebration featured a breathtaking all white floral design, with lush arrangements that brought softness and romance to the room. Two long tables were styled for the bridal party, each covered in glowing candles that created a warm and intimate ambiance. The abundance of candlelight paired with the timeless florals resulted in a setting that felt elevated yet serene, perfectly reflecting the beauty and intention of their wedding day.
The day began at the Roost Detroit, where C+J got ready surrounded by their closest friends and family. The space was filled with excitement, quiet moments, and meaningful anticipation as they prepared for one of the most important days of their lives. Laughter, happy tears, and thoughtful details set the tone for a day rooted in love, connection, and celebration, making the morning feel just as special as the moments that followed.
Instead of a first look, C+J chose to share a first touch. This deeply emotional and intimate moment gave them the private connection of a first look while still saving the truly magical moment of seeing each other for the first time for the walk down the aisle. During this quiet exchange, they shared personal vows and meaningful gifts, grounding themselves in one another before the day unfolded. Hidden from view, they took steadying breaths and created one last private memory as fiancés, filled with intention, emotion, and undeniable love.
Prior to the ceremony, the bride spent time with her girls, and the groom spent time with his guys, each group capturing special moments together. These separate sessions were filled with laughter, shared excitement, and genuine connection, giving everyone a chance to celebrate their bonds and create memories before the ceremony began. It was a joyful and meaningful pause, allowing both the bride and groom to feel grounded and surrounded by their closest friends as they prepared for the day ahead.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds slipped away to the bridal suite to quietly sign their marriage certificate and share a private moment together, soaking in the significance of the day. Following this intimate pause, they created more picture-perfect memories with their bridal portraits, capturing the joy, love, and excitement of their first moments as husband and wife.
After the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour in the stunning Kamper’s Rooftop Lounge on the 14th floor of the Book Tower. This indoor-outdoor space, offering breathtaking city views, provided the perfect setting for guests to enjoy drinks, mingle, and soak in the atmosphere before the reception began.
C+J were given a private viewing of the Conservatory Ballroom before it was revealed to their guests. As J took in the space, she was overcome with emotion and brought to tears.
C+J are both musicians, and during the wedding planning process, it was clear that entertainment was a top priority for them. Their shared love for music became a central theme throughout the celebration, and we wanted to make sure it was reflected not just in the performances, but in the design and decor as well. To bring this personal touch to life, we created a unique seating chart that incorporated their passion for music: each table number was displayed on a vinyl record, with each guest’s name elegantly written on the corresponding record. This not only served as a functional guide for guests but also acted as a creative and meaningful nod to the couple’s musical journey together. In addition, the couple had a guest book in the form of a vinyl record, allowing friends and family to leave messages in a way that perfectly tied into the musical theme. Every detail was thoughtfully designed to celebrate their story, making the wedding experience feel both personal and unforgettable.
The Conservatory Ballroom was transformed into a romantic haven, overflowing with lush white florals, verdant greenery, and the soft glow of countless candles that created an intimate and dreamy ambiance. We were thrilled to repurpose the stunning floral arches from the ceremony, placing them behind the head table to provide a seamless and elegant transition between the two spaces. Dinner was a beautifully intimate moment, filled with heartfelt toasts, laughter, and the warmth of close connections. As soon as the last course was cleared, the energy soared. Guests filled the dance floor, sharing endless laughs, dancing the night away, and celebrating with radiant smiles. Every detail, from the decor to the music, worked together to make the evening feel effortlessly magical, leaving memories that the couple and their guests will
