D+S envisioned their wedding to reflect three key elements: classic, romantic, and elegant. S, with her refined sense of style, preferred a simple color palette of ivory with all glass accents. To bring this vision to life, we chose all-white florals, free of greenery, allowing the blooms to truly stand out. The soft white petals of peonies, roses, and ranunculuses created a stunning backdrop of timeless beauty, while the delicate texture of each flower brought an air of sophistication. To complement the florals, we adorned each table with an abundance of candles, creating a warm and intimate ambiance. Elegant glass candelabras, lit with soft, flickering flames, added a touch of glamour and romance to the scene. Every detail, from the candlelight to the blooms, worked in harmony to create a soft, ethereal glow throughout the venue.
D+S’s ceremony was held at the couple’s family church, St. Alphonsus-St. Clement Parish. This stunning church, built in the Romanesque Revival style, was the dream venue for S’s wedding day. It seemed like fate, as S was baptized at this very church exactly 27 years to the day of their wedding
S wanted to incorporate a touch of emerald green into her invitations, inspired by the traditional color of May. The invitations featured a custom emblem and a shimmery ivory backdrop, perfectly capturing the elegance of the wedding and setting the tone for a sophisticated celebration.
After the ceremony, the couple visited the cemetery to honor S’s grandmother. S has always done this for every significant event in her life as a way to include her grandma in those moments. It was a deeply emotional yet joyful part of the day, one that made it feel as though S’s grandmother was there, sharing in the celebration.
After visiting the cemetery, the bridal party made their way to Detroit to capture stunning photos at the beautiful Cadillac Place. This architectural gem, recognized as a National Historic Landmark on June 2, 1978, is a prime example of Neoclassical design.
The reception was the perfect culmination of D+S’s vision for their day. A mix of elegance, romance, and fun was woven throughout every detail, from the stunning floral arrangements to the thoughtful placement of candles around the venue. Guests dined, danced, and celebrated the newlyweds into the night in a warm, intimate setting that truly captured the essence of the couple’s love story. Every element of the reception, from the place settings to the lighting, was designed to create a magical, unforgettable experience.
